levels of durability- with nylon gears or metal gears. Metal gear servos have a considerably higher cost than those with just nylon or plastic and the weight of metal units is substantially more. Digital is another feature that you want to have on your servo as these are more accurate than standard servos.

It’s also important to mention the practice of waterproofing servos. Many have tried placing their servos in balloons or melting the plastic case or covering the gaps with glue in order to waterproof their servos. Traxxas now distributes and sells all of their vehicles with waterproof servos. I’ve got them in my Emaxx and had a couple go out- the shifting servo and a steering servo. I was relieved to learn that Traxxas would replace them for $15 plus $5 shipping. In fact they’ll replace up to three for that same price! Not a bad deal. Saved me maybe $60 over buying new ones.
